Experimental 3D – Week 2

This lecture was about having ideas and brainstorming. Experimental 3D does not require a story but some kind of narrative is good for 3D analysis.

William S Burroughs

The Beat movement started in New York after the boom generation. Beat movement, was  an American social and literary movement originating in the 1950s and centred in the bohemian artist communities of San Francisco’s North Beach, Los Angeles’ Venice West, and New York City’s Greenwich Village.

Roger Denson

A nomadic ideologist and american journalist and art critic.

‘The collective set of physical-conceptual valuations are given priority in a culture’

What is reality? Reality is an individual thought. It is how you perceive something in your own reality. You feel this through your senses. Reality can be both individual and social. Individuals with the same characteristics form a group and the way we perceive things are oftened influenced by others around us. Culture and generations also play a big part.

Communication has changed over the years and generations now experience it differently. We are all influenced through social media, access to the internet and advances in technology. Peoples realities can be different even when they are experiencing the same thing. We can let others share our realities by the way and type of art we create. VIsual communication is now very strong. Visually and our knowledge and interests also influence the way we perceive reality.

Albert Einstein

Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.” – Albert Einstein

Douglas Adams

Everything you see or hear or experience in any way at all is specific to you. You create a universe by perceiving it, so everything in the universe you perceive is specific to you.” – Douglas Adams

Untitled-12

Is the dress blue, black or gold? A dilemma for thousands on social media. Your visual sense perceives the dress in your reality. You may be influenced by others because you don’t want to seem stupid as not able to correctly guess the colour or you may try to influence others to your reality.

The way you experience something will be very different from the way another experiences the same thing. This depends on your beliefs, upbringing, culture, motives and preferences.

Everyones realities are different but if you have the right tools you can bring others into your reality,
